Everything we know so far about Netflix's The School for Good and Evil movie
After nine years of waiting, Evers and Nevers across the globe are getting the first The School for Good and Evil movie. With a cast of accomplished actors and a superstar crew, this Netflix release will have tons of fans tuning in. Below are all of the details that you need to know about this book-to-film adaptation.
The movie has a fall 2022 release date
Sometime during the autumn season, The School for Good and Evil is set to release. Filming wrapped up in July in Belfast, Ireland.
The plot stays true to the book
For those who have read the novel, the movie will follow a similar plot. Haven't picked up your copy yet? We've got you.
In the middle of the forest are two schools: One for those with pure hearts and the other for those with wicked intentions. Within the schools, the future fairy tale heroines and villains will be trained in order to live out their own happily ever afters. Two Gavaldon girls (the pretty and girly Sophie and the shy Agatha) are brought in as new students. However, they're placed in the wrong schools. Sophie is stuck in the School of Evil, when it is her dream to be a princess—and Agatha is stuck in the School of Good, when all she wants is to go home. The book follows their journeys to fit in with many unexpected twists and turns.
The cast and crew will not disappoint
HSMTMTS' Sofia Wylie (Agatha) and Broadway alumni Sophia Anne Caruso (Sophie) take center stage as the two leading roles. Other well-known actors such as Michelle Yeoh (Professor Emma Anemone), Charlize Theron (Lady Lesso) and Laurence Fishburne (School Master) will make up the staff of the schools. The movie is directed by Paul Feig, who we all know and love as the director of The Office.
*All* of the fairy tale magic will be there
As the movie leaves the school uniforms behind, the unique and fantastical costumes of the film are something to look forward to. Hidden Figures' Renée Ehrlich Kalfus is the costume designer for the movie. Not to mention the gorgeous, whimsical scenery. It's safe to say that we're pretty stoked.
