Must List
You can *actually* apply to these competition TV shows as a teen
Ever dreamed of being on TV? Well, why wait? There are a lot more opportunities to apply to competitive TV shows as a teenager than you may think. You might find one that would be your *perfect* big break onto the small screen (and give you a chance to win a pretty nice sum of prize money)!
I have always wanted to compete on television, but I had one specific show in mind: Survivor. As soon as I turned 18, I submitted my first video application and have applied for the last three years. While I haven't been chosen *yet,* I'm holding out for this goal and won't stop applying until I do! Even if you aren't 18 yet, there are plenty of opportunities to get on a competition show. Here are the best of the best.
America's Got Talent
Got a unique talent or something you just genuinely love to do? You can compete on AGT at any age—and with any type of act. It is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience and gives you the chance to perform in front of major crowds (post-COVID, ofc). Check out how to apply here!
The Voice
If being a singer is your dream, you're in luck. The Voice auditions are open to anyone over 13 years old. Lots of artists broke into the industry with this super popular show. Imagine millions of people hearing YOU sing live every week! Check out how to apply here!
MasterChef Junior
This cooking competition is open for applicants between 8 and 13 years old. You get to learn a lot about food and cooking while competing for a pretty amazing prize inside one of the most beautiful kitchens in the country. That sounds like a win-win to me. Check out how to apply here!
Jeopardy (Kids Week)
While you have to be 18 to compete as a regular contestant on Jeopardy, the show regularly hosts a "kids week" for trivia fanatics between 13 and 17 years old. Your brain might hurt at the end, but it will definitely be an exciting day. Check out how to apply here!
Survivor
Of course, I have to mention my fave show of all time! You must be 18 to apply, but if you're not quite there, you can spend the next few years practicing your fire-making skills and making your video audition. Check out how to apply here!
