You've definitely heard about The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. In three seasons, the Amazon Prime original has been nominated for 54 Emmys (including 20 noms this year) and has won 16. What makes this show so fantastic? We're glad you asked! Here are the five main reasons why this show needs to be on your watch list ASAP. 

1. It's hilarious

Any Gilmore Girls fan will recognize Amy Sherman-Palladino's fast paced, witty comedy from a mile away. Not only is all the dialogue hysterical, the show is literally about a stand-up comedian! Midge's acts will leave you in tears from laughing so hard. 

2. The costumes are *unbelievable*

A period piece is only as good as its costumes, and that's why Mrs. Maisel is fantastic. These glorious 1950s and '60s outfits make this show shine. We guarantee that you will leave every episode coveting Midge and Rose's colorful closets. 

3. So is the soundtrack

This show is full of classic old-timey hits from Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald along with newer songs from Broadway stars like Sutton Foster. Each song perfectly captures the tone of the moment and makes every scene special. 

4. The cast is beyond talented

Tony Shaloub, Rachel Brosnhan, Alex Borestein and Marin Hinkle lead this incredible ensemble piece while guest actors like Jane Lynch and Zachary Levi make hilarious cameos. Each and every cast member deserves an Emmy (and most of them have been nominated). 

5. Girl power FTW!

Midge and Susie's friendship and belief in one another is simply inspiring. Women cheering each other on and uplifting each other? We love to see it!
