Top holiday movies to watch with your family and friends
It’s a Wonderful Life (1946)
As far as Christmas classics go, this film really is the best. If you want a movie that’s a little deeper than the staple Frosty the Snowman movie, this is a great choice to watch with your family. It’s one that everyone from your grandparents to your parents to you and your sibs can enjoy!
A Rugrats Chanukah (1992)
OK, this isn’t a movie, but it’s one of the best Rugrats (Nickelodeon’s old hit series) episodes ever. If you’re babysitting younger sibs and cousins, this is a great choice because it’s short enough that they won’t get bored and you’ll have a small break from playing board games. Rugrats also has a great Kwanzaa episode if that’s a holiday your family celebrates.
A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)
Your parents probably grew up with the Peanuts and would love to watch this classic with you. And if you and your sibs love Snoopy and his pals, you’ll love this movie too!
Elf (2003)
This film stars Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel—before she was famous!—and is a great comedy to watch with your friends or cousins. Your parents probably won’t think the jokes are as funny as you do, so save this one for a kids’ night in.
The Year Without a Santa Claus (1974)
It wouldn’t be the holiday season without a Claymation movie, and this is a great option if you’ve already seen the Rudolph series way too many times. This film features the classic Miser brothers and the “Snow Miser” and “Heat Miser” songs. They’re fun…but be prepared for your younger sibs and cousins to sing them for the rest of the night.
