Must List

Hey, dancers, this movie's for you!

If you spend more time at your dance school than your home, or practice the moves from the Step Up movies in your room, then you’re gonna love this new DVD we just checked out: Go For It!—available Sept. 27.

Carmen (Aimee Garcia) is a high school senior who loves to dance at hip-hop clubs in her hometown of Chicago more than anything. However, her Mexican-American family is pushing her to attend college, and her rehearsals with her dance team are becoming more and more competitive. Carmen doesn’t know what she wants to do or what kind of career she wants to pursue, so she decides to quit her dance team and focus on her goals.

Though she’s not a perfect student, her psychology teacher’s (Al Bandiero) encouragement to apply to a college with a strong dance program makes her more and more determined to follow dance, despite her family’s pressure for her to be something she’s not.

You’ll be amazed at Carmen’s dance routines. And her brothers (played by Andres Perez-Molina and Gustavo Mellado) are total eye candy! Carmen’s story is inspired by the director’s (Carmen Marron) experiences as a street dancer in Chicago, so it’s totally true to life.

Go For It! will be available on DVD, Digital Download, and On Demand this Tuesday, Sept. 27. Be sure to check it out.
