Everything you missed about Olivia Rodrigo's visit to the White House
Not only is Olivia Rodrigo topping the charts with Sour, she's taking on the podium as a true voice of our generation, joining President Biden at the White House to stress the importance of young people getting vaccinated against the coronavirus this week.
Making an entrance in a vintage pink Chanel suit, Olivia stressed the importance of receiving both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and how young people can turn the tides toward her immunity. Here's everything you need to know:
Recently, President Biden posted a photo on Instagram of a younger version of himself with the caption, "I know this young person would've gotten vaccinated, but we've got to get other young people protected as well." He followed up by asking "who's willing to help?" to which HSMTMTS star Olivia commented, "I'm in! See you tomorrow at the White House!"
“Thank you to everyone who has done their part in helping end this pandemic and thank you to President Biden, Vice President Harris, Dr. Fauci, and everyone at the White House for having me,” she said in a speech.
Additionally, she shared an educational video about getting the vaccine. She even mentioned that vaccines are—and we quote—"Good 4 U", and encouraged fans that "It doesn't matter if you're young and healthy, getting the vaccine is about protecting yourself, your friends and your family." She told the White House briefing room that she was "humbled and honored" to be a part of it all.
It's clear Olivia is coming into her style, too, appearing in a stunning two-piece pink vintage Chanel set from the Spring 1995 collection paired with Giuseppe Zanotti platform heels, a black mini purse and black matching socks.
While we patiently wait for her next album and this week's new episode of HSMTMTS, we can't help but continue rewatching Liv shine on the podium. Pretty cool for a girl who just learned how to drive! There are so many more amazing opportunities in store for Miss Rodrigo, and we can't wait to see what's in store.
