How an adopted teen is helping older dogs find homes
Muttville is a San Francisco dog rescue dedicated to helping senior dogs find their forever homes. You have to be 17 years old to volunteer for them, but that didn't stop preteen Meena Kumar from finding a way to help.
At just 12 years old, Meena launched her very own pet-sitting biz, Pet Fairy Services. For $35 a day, Meena worked hard to care for neighborhood dogs with the goal of donating the funds to Muttville.

Now at a wisened 14 years old, Meena has raised $7,000 for Muttville, a donation that's been matched by Intel for a grand total of $14,000. The funds are sure to help countless deserving senior dogs find loving homes, a mission that's personal to Meena.
Meena was found abandoned at a college campus in India as a baby and spent a year in an orphanage before being adopted by a couple in Mumbai. After her family moved to San Jose, she couldn't wait to get involved with local animal rescue organizations.
Learning about the plight of abandoned dogs like those at Muttville Senior Dog Rescue hit close to home. She recognized that older dogs deserve to find a family that loves and cares for them too. As she told CNN, "They give you the same unconditional love as any other dog."
Meena's story proves that you're *never* too young to make a difference when you have the passion and the willingness to put in the work. We can't wait to see what her future holds.
