Attention all Swifties! We may be entering the next epoch of Taylor Swift. Last Saturday, the 26-year-old singer and superstar took to the stage to perform at the U.S. Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. The performance was Taylor's first in 2016.  

Although she's faced some recent obstacles (a cold and sleepless nights due to interruptions from her cat), Taylor's performance seems to have been a major success. At the concert, 80,000 fans enthusiastically cheered on the singer, as she performed a 15-song set. From "Wildest Dreams" to "Love Story," Tay poured her heart into each of her songs.

During the show, Taylor rocked a sparkly black romper and paired it with matching black booties. As usual, she completed her look with her signature red lip and black cat eye. However, there was one part of Taylor's look that caught her audience off-guard: Her choker.     

The fan response to Taylor's newest accessory was immediate and energetic. Tweets from Swifites everywhere began pouring in. Taylor has been spotted wearing chokers on a casual basis, but it doesn't look like she's ever worn one during a performance.      

But, why is Taylor's accessory grabbing so much attention? As one fan explained to Yahoo! Style, "She usually changes her fashion every time she releases her music, and she's never worn [a choker] before." The fan adds, "Every album means a new Taylor Swift 'era,' and the 1989 era has just finished and a new one is hopefully about to start.

We have *no* idea what her choker means, but if is signaling the start of a new era for Taylor, we're so excited for it!
