French Fashion is Bulking Up

The New York Times reported the French government is on its way to passing a law making websites and magazines that promote eating disorders and pass on starvation tips illegal. The punishment for providing "thinspiration" in the French culture is up to three years in prison and at least $70,000 in fines.

This comes after Brazilian model Ana Carolina Reston died from anorexia and Spanish fashion shows banned super-thin models. The French Federation of Couture is fighting back saying that it is impossible to legislate body weight.
