Gracie Abrams is releasing new music! Here's everything we know
Gracie Abrams is already making 2023 her year. Our favorite sad girl singer/songwriter recently announced some super exciting projects. From the upcoming release of her debut album (and an amaze new single to kick things off!) to a sold-out headlining tour, we can't wait to see what's ahead for Gracie. Want to learn more about her new music? Look no further for *all* the deets.
The album
Earlier this month, Gracie took to social media to announce the release date of her debut album, Good Riddance. The record is set to drop on Feb. 24, making it the perfect seasonal soundtrack for soaking up the last few weeks of winter *and* getting ready to head into the spring months. It's a time for new opportunities, personal growth and fresh starts—all themes that inspired Gracie while she worked on the album.
"Writing this record allowed me to grow up in ways I needed to," Gracie wrote in an Instagram post. "It forced me to reflect and to be accountable. It allowed me to walk away from versions of myself that I no longer realized. It allowed me to let go."
Good Riddance was created in close collaboration with musician, songwriter and producer Aaron Dessner, who also worked on Gracie's 2021 EP, This Is What It Feels Like. "It's difficult to imagine these songs living anywhere other than my most secret places," Gracie admitted. "But [Aaron] reminded me that holding space for brutal honesty in songwriting is kind of the whole point." She later added, "He is one of the very few people in this world capable of making others feel safe to their core while they are exploring the parts of themselves that are the most raw." Talk about a total dream team!
The single
Luckily, fans didn't have to wait too long for a first glimpse of the album. On Jan. 13, Gracie put out her latest single (which will also feature as a track on Good Riddance), "Where do we go now?", along with a music video. Through her signature wistful, meaningful lyrics, Gracie questions how to move on from a relationship that has fallen apart. Well, we know where we're going now (to listen to this song again, ofc).
The tour
Besides joining Taylor Swift on her iconic Eras Tour for 30 show-stopping nights, Gracie will also set out on her own headlining tour this year! She'll play 18 shows across North America throughout March and April. "I can't wait to see you...we already know I'll be in tears," she wrote on Instagram. DW, Gracie—you def won't be the only one.
