The last week has been all about looking back on the past decade and starting a fresh chapter, and trans activist Jazz Jennings did just that when she posted a super-personal photo to Instagram, showing the scars she endured from her gender confirmation surgery. 

"I'm proud of my scars and love my body just the way it is," Jazz captioned the pic. "I call them my battle wounds because they signify the strength and perseverance it took to finally complete my transition."

With almost 200,000 likes and counting, Jazz's post inspired many fans to comment with supportive messages. "Never be ashamed of your battle scars girl!!!" one fan wrote. "They are yours!!! Own them sweets!!"

Jazz, now 19, has been at the forefront of trans activism for over a decade, and her TLC show, I Am Jazz, chronicles her life as a trans teen. To learn more about Jazz and her journey, watch the video below:
