Madison Iseman talks all things spooky for her new Halloween flick

It's about to get spoopy in here...

Halloween is all about candy and costumes, right? Well, it's also about one other thing: scary and spooky movies—and cutie Madison Iseman is starring in a new one this sesason: Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween. The flick follows her character, Sarah, and her crew after they come to possess Slappy, a mischievous ventriloquist dummy from an unpublished Goosebumps book.

We sat down with the star behind the scares to chat all things Halloween, on-set memories and more. Read on!

Girls' Life: What’s your favorite scary movie?
Madison Iseman: The Goonies
is my all time favorite adventure movie, but as far as movies that keep me from sleeping, probably The Shining or The Ring.

GL: What's your best memory from the set of the movie?
MI: Every day we filmed with Ken Jeong (Mr. Chu). One time in particular, we were shooting a scene that is supposed to be a little more grounded and emotional. During the scene Ken's character references a few different Goosebumps book titles. Ken was supposed to say "Say Cheese and Die!" but he kept saying "Cheese and Rye" on accident, and I've never laughed so hard in my life. It will be a miracle if they can edit that scene together. Now every time I eat cheese and bread I think of Ken. Thanks Ken!

GL: What are you being for Halloween this year?
MI: I haven't decided yet! I always like a group costume. Last year my friends and I went as 80s fitness instructors. This year I may go as Slappy, which seems fitting. For me, Halloween always turns into "Halloweek." I just love to have a good time with my friends.

GL: What's your favorite Halloween candy?
MI: Oooo, anything chocolate!
