The heartfelt message of Zombies will make you "awww"
It's Friday! But more importantly, it's Zombies day.
That's right, Disney Channel's newest original movie drops tonight at 8 p.m. EST.—and we're counting down the minutes!
When a group of zombies is finally allowed to transfer to human-dominated Seabrook High School, it raises a couple eyebrows. Together, the zombies, like Kylee Russell's character Eliza, and the cheerleaders, like Carla Jeffery's character Bree, work together to show the town that being different is OK—even though zombies and humans aren't so different after all.
In today's day in age when we're taught that conformity is key, the movie's message is so important. "At such a young age, we grow into our own insecurities," said Kylee. "We have these social standards that we feel like we have to follow, and a certain look we have to look like."
Kylee said learning how to accept yourself and accept others is such an important concept that this movie emphasizes.
"As we install that in kids...and install that in them now...they're going to be the ones to lead us in the future," she said. Carla had a similar feels about the movie's awesome message.
"Be kind to yourself and be kind to others," she said. We absolutely heart that!
Catch Kylee and Carla in Zombies tonight at 8 p.m. EST on Disney Channel. Who will you be watching with? Let us know in the comments!
