Zayn Malik is working with One Direction again?!
Zayn broke everyone's hearts last year when he left One Direction. TBH, we're still a little teary-eyed about his departure. From his music to his public image, pretty much everything about him nowadays is decidedly un-boy band like...which is why we're a little confused to learn that he is going to be producing a T.V. show about a boy band.
The show, which is currently titled Boys, will follow the formation of a successful boy band and everything that comes along with it—whether that's the fun and exciting parts of the job (like performing for adoring fans) or the stressful, pressure-filled side of the gig (perhaps being chased by those adoring fans). Hm, sounds pretty similar to the lives of a certain group of cute British and Irish boys we once knew...
Of course, Zayn is not the only member of the band to beef up his career post-1D. Harry Styles just filmed the flick Dunkirk, and has also signed a solo recording contract. Liam Payne and Niall Horan too decided to sign their own respective solo deals. Louis Tomlinson has recently been featured as a guest judge on America's Got Talent and is apparently managing a girl group. Yet somehow, it feels a bit strange that Zayn would want to work on a project like this, one that could bring up so much from his past with the band that he left.
Then again, who better than a former boy band member to ensure the authenticity of a show about a boy band? Probably nobody. Either way, we're interested to see what Boys has to offer.
What do you think of this new One Direction-inspired show?
