Sofia Carson rocked her role as Evie in Disney Channel's Descedenants. Now, she's just plain ready to rock out.

After showing off her pipes during the DCOM's musical numbers, Sofia's kicking off her very own music career. The 22 year old just signed with Republic Records/Hollywood Records to start work on her very first album.

And we don't have to wait too long: Her first single, "Love Is The Name," will be coming out on April 7th, just over a week from now. You can check it on Radio Disney for the premiere and buy it for yourself the next day. 

"I am honored to be a part of Hollywood Records and Republic Records," Sofia shared in a press release. "I feel immensely thankful... I cannot wait to share my music with the world."

Rumor has it the tunes will have an "international flare" as Sofia taps into her Colombian roots. This isn't Sofia's only big project, though. She also has her new DCOM, Adventures in Babysitting, coming out this summer while she works on the new A Cinderella Story sequel.
