Demi's new single is totally catchy (we can't stop singing along), but it's not the only big thing she has planned. She also hopped on the radio this morning to chat about the under-wraps album she's been working on for months and plans on releasing sometime this year. 

Though Demi's often used her music in the past to deal with struggles in her life (um, "Skyscraper," anyone? Is it possible to listen to that song without tearing up?), she says this album is focused more on enjoying the good things in life. "I just feel more confident in who I am as an artist and a person. I’m ready to stop talking about my past and focus on having fun in the future," Demi shared.

"The support I have had with this album already, it's just kind of been game changing," she added, also commenting on how her music is getting a little more, well, mature. “I am a role model and want to maintain that role model status…but at the same time I am not a little angel and I’ve never been," she explained. "You can be a role model while being [kick butt]. It’s about being honest and having confidence."

Though we're still loving all our old Demi CDs, we're ready to hear her new music, too, even if she's straying from her older sound. After all, one of our favorite things about Demi has always been her dedication to staying true to herself.
