Did Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande's feud never even exist?

It's pretty much common knowledge at this point that former Sam & Cat costars Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande don't really get along. Rumors swirled last summer about the two one-time friends when their show was cancelled, but after Jennette shared a message on her Twitter about getting out of a toxic friendship, we figured that was it for the duo.

Jennette didn't make any corrections when everybody assumed her Tweet was about Ariana and that the two were completely done friendship-wise, but in a recent interview she said thar Ari was still her close friend. According to Jennette, the two had some up-and-downs while filming the show, but ultimately came out the other side even stronger.

"I think we butted heads at times but in a very sisterly way. She knows me so well and I know her so well that I think it was unfortunate that things kind of got misconstrued," Jennette said. "Once we didn’t have child labor laws [on Sam & Cat] we could work like 16 hours a day so you are around these people constantly and it’s just natural that you’re gonna have ups and downs. But you bond so much and you’re so close that you can’t go through that experience and... I can’t imagine a world where you would not come out extreme friends. I mean I have bonds with both Miranda Cosgrove and Ariana that are impenetrable."

Is it possible that we all got it wrong last year when it seemed like Jennette and Ari had split, even though we haven't seen them hanging since? Or do you think Jennette's just being polite and nice for the media? Weigh in below in the comments.
