Since Selena and Justin stepped out onto the red carpet together on Sunday night, the paparazzi has been snappin’ pics of the pair like crazy. One caught the two outside of a restaurant while celebrating Bieber’s 17^th birthday. The photo revealed a red bump on Selena’s lip. Apparently that’s all it takes to rile up Justin’s frenzied fan network.

Crazed tweens and teens took to Twitter to rehash the (nonexistent) details of the fight. Many celebrated. According to Gawker, one fan wrote: “U GO THE BELIEBER WHO PUNCHED SELENA IN THA FACE!!! U GO GHURLLLL!!!!! PUNCHER HARDER NEXT TIME:):):) LOL

Talk about aggression! This certainly isn’t the first time Bieber’s seen fan fallout from his rumored relationship with the Disney star. But this time, a slew of supporters came out of the woodwork, tweeting their apologies to the pair using the hashtags #sorryjustin and #sorryselena.

While we’re a li’l bit worried by some of the, ahem, more violent tendencies Beliebers have expressed recently, we’re thrilled that a whole bunch more are really truly supporting their fave celeb. You go, girls!

Oh, and the truth? A rep told People magazine that there’s “absolutely no truth” to the rumor. Looks like Selena is just the victim of a cold sore, after all.
