The ultimate guide to dressing *cozy* this winter
Before we can get to warmer days and endless sunshine, we gotta get through the cold, winter days. While you might struggle with getting out of your cozy blankets (who wouldn't, tbh) and throwing something on other than sweats and a hoodie, we've got the guide to tossing those aside and opting for a fire fit that's both cute and warm.
Layer basics underneath
Often overlooked, layering even the simplest tee or turtleneck under a sweatshirt or sweater can be *exactly* what your outfit is missing. You can opt for neutral colors like white or black, or you can experiment with vivid hues (or even prints) if you're feeling bold. Not only will this make it look like you put in effort, but you'll be so much cozier with the extra layer.
Winter-proof your skirts
Some of us love our skirts too much to give 'em up—even when it's cold. If that sounds like you, here's what you need to do to keep warm: Wear some comfy tights underneath and a pair of knee-high boots...and you can even layer some biker shorts underneath for superior warmth.
Play around with textures
We tend to choose one or two warm pieces for our fits, but what if we brought all of those together? Consider pairing corduroy pants with a thick knit sweater and a puffer vest. Then, throw on your fave coat and some comfy boots for serious warmth.
Head-to-toe knits
The coziest of all the outfits? Probably this one. There's no better way to keep your legs warm than with knit pants. Sweater sets will be your BFF this winter season, whether you're lounging at home or heading to school. They're basically the perfect alternative to a sweatsuit (and the secret to looking instantly put together). Pair yours with a shearling jacket and some Ugg boots for maximum coziness.
Upgrade your coat
During winter we can reach a point in which we're tired of our coats or begin to find them a bit boring. Regardless, your coat is the key to staying cozy and warm. A way to easily elevate yours? Adding a belt over top. This little detail is easily customizable and so unique. You can play around with different-colored belts or printed ones. You'll be left with endless ways to finish off your fits.
Cozy in fun colors
Just because it's chilly and the sun goes down early doesn't mean we should abandon our colorful wardrobes. Color can quickly be incorporated into your winter outfit as easily as a small pop of pink to your neutral outfit—or it can be the key piece (like this gorg rainbow sweater). Throwing on a cozy, vivid knit is easy and *super* cute.
When in doubt, accessorize
Last but not least? The trusty trick: Warm accessories. Whether you add a knit beanie, cute mittens or a scarf with a killer print, accessories can elevate your outfit (and provide soft 'n' snuggly vibes).
