7 ways to celebrate Halloween without wearing a costume

If you love Halloween, you're probably a little bummed that the holiday only lasts for a day. With so many amazing potential costumes and adorable accessories, how could you possibly choose just one?! For girls who want to get into the Halloween spirit a bit early, here are some cute, subtle ways to incorporate Halloween into your outfits.

Psst: These ideas are also fab if you're not really feelin' the whole costume thing this year, but you still want to be ~festive~.

1. Let your fave character inspire your outfit

@kellysweetbeauty

Choose your fave character, like Velma from Scooby-Doo or a Disney princess, then coordinate the colors and accessories of your outfit based on that character's style. It's *like* a costume, but you won't look like you're trying too hard.

2. Add a festive hair scarf or headband to your outfit

@cutesyandminis

There are so many possibilities! Rock a printed hair scarf, a cat-ear headband or witch hat to add a bit of festive flair to any fit.

3. Add a pop of orange to your outfit

@lauraeboote

A little pop of color goes a long way! Whether you add a sweater under a pair of overalls or don hair bows doesn't really matter—all you need is some orange to get into the Halloween spooky spirit.

4. DIY (or buy) a Halloween statement necklace

@tiva.charm

PSA: Charm necklaces are in! So why not make 'em festive? This beaded necklace is perf for a low-key cutesy vibe. Buy one from a small biz (we heart supporting shops like Tiva Charm) or DIY your own for budget-friendly accessories.

5. Wear a pumpkin sweater

@_baelerie

Pumpkin apparel is perfect not only for Halloween but for the entire fall season. (Re-wearability = a yes from us.)

6. Spice up your nail art

@gsbeautybase

A Halloween-inspired mani is a subtle way to celebrate the holiday. Plus, you can keep it on well after Oct. 31 to extend the Halloween season just a *little* bit.

7. Experiment with bold lipstick or eyeliner

@ashleymelisamua

Don't want to paint your entire face to commit to a costume? That doesn't mean you can't experiment with makeup. Try a red, orange or purple lipstick if you're feeling bold, or a cat-eye for major #felinevibes. Bonus points if you use eyeliner to add some spooky bats to your look!
