How to make your winter clothes last *way* longer

If you're anything like us, you recently pulled out your warm winter clothes and were, well, underwhelmed. Salt-stained boots, lumpy jackets, pilly, sad-looking sweaters...as if being cold all the time isn't bad enough! But before you go adding winter wear to your wish list, give these tricks a try.

For puffy jackets:

● Wash the jacket in a front load washer, using more detergent than usual.

● Turn down the heat on your dryer to prevent damage.

● DON'T hang your down jacket to dry. It'll grow mildew!

● Before drying, throw in clean tennis balls to help break up clumps in the jacket.

For leather or suede boots:

● To get rid of salt stains, wipe your boots with a warm damp washcloth.

● Dry far away from direct heat sources (i.e. fireplaces) to avoid cracking in the leather or suede.

● To prevent further damage, spray your boots with a waterproofing product to protect them from snow and slush.

For sweaters:

● Gently go over your sweater with a razor to remove pill balls.

● Then run a lint roller over it to pick up the final fuzzies.

● Only wash your sweater ever 2-5 wears.

● Ring the sweater out and leave flat to dry. NEVER wash in the dryer!
