How To: Dress like Rachel Berry

Ya don’t have to be a Gleek to wrangle this cute crooner’s style. From animal sweaters to plaid skirts, Rachel’s look is the paragon of preppy style, despite what others at McKinley High may say (and tease). GL’s got the complete guide to Rachel’s style, top to bottom and gold-star approved.

The Sweater

Rachel loves her sweaters, whether they’re warm cardigans with big buttons, argyle sweater vests or animal covered pullovers. When looking for a pullover in particular, a favorite of Rachel’s lately, opt for one with a preppy centerpiece: moose, rabbits, sailboats and stars are all in Rachel territory.

The Button-Up

Rachel means business with her white button-up tops. Whether they’re worn under a sweater or with an open cardi, they’re a key part of the ‘schoolgirl’ in her self-described fashion.

The Skirt

Whether it’s solid, plaid or printed, mini skirts are a fashion staple for Ms. Berry. Be sure to match your skirt to a color in your sweater. It’s this coordination that’s signature for McKinley High’s original diva.

The Knee Highs

It may be warm out, but Rachel can’t resist this uniform must-have. Opt for neutral colors — white, grey, navy, black or tan — and be sure to wear a hue that ties in a color from your sweater.

The Mary Janes

Opt for flats, oxfords or Mary Janes in a variety of colors so they can be matched to sweaters. These sweeties channel Rachel’s childhood days in dance classes where she spent hours perfecting her craft.
