Should you chop your hair?

Short crops are so rn—plus, hello, they have built-in AC. Going short can require a little extra time in the a.m. (and more frequent trips to the salon). But whether you go with a lob like Lana, a bob like Lucy or a full-on pixie like Joey—we are so into this new movement. Here's what to ask for as soon as you can take your seat in your stylist's chair...

Layered Lob

If you have thick or medium hair, this lob is a perfect option. Ask your hairstylist for a square cut with lots of piecy layering. This will add texture and take out some of the bulk. If you have fine hair, just ask for fewer layers so your hair still looks full.

Blunt Bob

Recreate this classic bob by asking your stylist for a slightly angled, chin-length cut with a little texture at the top. If you have fine to medium hair, you're set. If your hair is on the thicker side, consider an undercut or ask for extra layers so it falls nicely.

We love a super short moment! Tell your stylist that you want a rounded pixie with extra length at the top. This looks amazing on medium and fine wavy hair. Just be ready to pop into the salon for a trim every month or so.
