5 hairstyles that are *perf* for the pool

If you’re headed to the pool or the beach, you’re probably focused on relaxing or seeing that cutie who works at the snack bar. You don’t want to have to keep worrying about your hair, but you still want to look good. With these five hairstyles, not only will you look adorbs, but you’ll be worry-free whether you’re swimming or laying out.

We’re all familiar with the trusty top knot. It has saved us from many bad hair days or mornings when we’ve overslept. The top knot also works wonders at keeping your hair tangle free during a day at the pool. If you want to get a little more stylish, trying adding a fun headband like in the photo, or trying twin top knots for a Miley look.

Like the braided look but don’t know how to do those intricate French braids? If you can’t keep up with some of the complicated YouTube tutorials (don’t worry, we can’t either!), then try adding some teeny braids to your regular pony or bun. They don’t require lots of expertise, yet still look amazing.

For a more boho look, try a fishtail braid. These braids look super complicated, but are actually *super* simple to get the hang of. It's practical for a day spent splashing, but will still look put-together for dinner after a long pool day. Try a looser version if you’ll be laying out or reading, and a tighter braid for swimming and running around.

If you’re a pro at plaiting, try out a fun Dutch or French braid. Your locks will be kept in place all day, so you won’t have to deal with pesky flyaways while you’re beachin’ it. Since we believe in the more the merrier, try pigtail versions of your favorite braids.

Looking for a fun alternative to your basic pony, but sick of time-consuming braids? Try out a bubble pony for a look that takes only seconds to master. Plus, your hair will stay out of your face all day. For a more polished look, wrap strands of hair around the hair ties to conceal them.
