Amp up your midsummer mane game with colombre

2015 has already seen some pretty fabulous tress trends (sand art hair, anyone?), but let's be real—we're not all ready to rock a full head of rainbow. The solution? Colombré, a Kylie-approved way to step up your strands.

The colombré is essentially a colorful spin on the good ol’ ombré, which gradually lightens hair from root to tip. Instead of keeping the bottom half of your hair blonde, though, the colombré features a gorgeous shade of blue, pink, purple or another pretty pastel. And while stars like Vanessa Hudgens and Kylie Jenner have been rocking variations of this trend for some time now, the rest of us are finally starting to catch on.

We love how this look is a subtle spin on the more intense hair color trends we’ve seen throughout the year—perfect for pumping up your look in the middle of summer. If you’re looking for an easy, nonpermanent way to try out the trend, pick up some hair chalk at your local beauty supply store (try Splat’s Hair Chalk, $5.99, ulta.com). Want a little more staying power? Opt for a semi-permanent dye like Manic Panic’s Semi-Permanent Hair Color, $10.49, sallybeauty.com).

Don’t take too long to decide which pastel shade you’re going to use, though—the next trend will be here before you know it.

What color would you colomobré?  What summer tress trend are you crazy about?
