How to apply mascara the right way

We're pretty sure that every beauty blogger out there has a "signature" way of applying mascara. But which way is the *best* way to apply it? We went ahead and did some digging (along with some trail and error), and found a no fail way to get gorgeous lashes. Ahead, the only four steps you need to have next-level lashes (you're welcome).

Step 1: Color wheel

You should first find the best color for your lashes. If you’re a blonde or red head? You want a brown tint. Got brown or black locks? Go for a carbon black mascara. Pick a volumizing formula that won’t clump. The soft bristles on this wand keep the lash’s curl. A small amount of this product will go a long way!

Step 2: Curl, girl

Knowing how to use an eyelash curler is the real secret to longer-looking lashes. But the one trick that every girl must absolutely know is the following: curl before applying any mascara! The curl will last way longer and there will be lesser chance of any lash fallout.

Step 3: Wiggle and watch

Now for the real how-to: Take the mascara wand and start as close to the root of your lashes as possible, then pull the wand up and inward three times. Then, start again as close to root as possible and pull up and out three times.

Step 4: Singled out

Now, stroke each lash in the outer corners of your eyes individually by holding the wand tip vertically. Repeat on the bottom lashes—but don’t go too heavy, or risk the spider eye effect.
