Tip 1: Smear on sunscreen
Alright, girls—this one should be a no-brainer! The easiest way to keep your skin healthy is to apply, and reapply, sunscreen. For the best results, apply every two hours with sunscreen that is at least SPF 30. If you break out easily or have oily skin, try an oil-free formula. And don’t forget to protect those sneaky hidden areas like your scalp, ears and feet. There are no excuses for unprotected skin, and sunburns are a killer!

Tip 2: Lather on lotion
Finally, the weather is heating up. As you embrace the warmth and start to strut your bare legs in your fave skirts, shorts and dresses, keep in mind that you’ll be shaving a whole lot more than you were in the winter. Be sure to lotion-up to fight irritation and to keep your legs silky smooth.
GL Tip: Don’t dive straight into the ocean or pool after shaving or waxing, because it’ll cause red bumps from irritation. Instead, wait a few hours to give your skin a break.

Tip 3: Protect your pucker
An SPF-infused lip balm will give your pout the extra protection it needs from the sun’s harmful rays. Keep your lips chap- and burn-free while you prepare to pucker up! If you’re feeling bold, try one with a tint of color—it’ll add some flair as you flash your pearly whites.

Tip 4: Stylish shield
Stay in the shade in style with a wide-brimmed floppy hat. This easy accessory can hide even the worst bad hair day, and will undoubtedly bring your outfit from drab to fab. Plus, it’s an easy way to avoid bright red burnt cheeks while still getting an even tan.

Tip 5: Faux glow
Some days you just don’t have the time to sit outside and tan. Achieve that sun-kissed glow safely with a tinted moisturizer. You’ll avoid harmful UV rays and look great—it’s a win-win!
