    Taylor’s braided twist

T-Swizz’s pulled-back ‘do is just as clean and fresh as the stark white dress she’s rocking. The textured look is interesting without being fussy, and just cool enough to keep her ensemble from slipping into the ever-dreaded ‘boring’ category.

To get Taylor’s look, start by applying mousse to damp hair. Once your hair has dried, curl the ends lightly with a half-inch curling iron, then loosely French braid until you reach the nape of your neck. Then, instead of tying off the end with an elastic, simply twist your curls around and under, and secure everything with bobby pins.

    J-Law’s side-sweep

Jennifer Lawrence’s sassy side bun perfectly toes the line between feminine and rocker chic. Try it out if you’re looking to glam up a bland outfit, or soften an already edgy one.

To recreate Jennifer’s loose knot, begin with a deep side part. Gather your hair into a side ponytail just behind your earlobe on the opposite side of your part, leaving a few pieces free to frame your face. On the last wrap-around of your elastic, don’t pull your hair all the way through; you’ll want to end up with a loop in your ponytail. With bobby pins, loosely secure the ends of your hair around the loop and the elastic. Spritz your side chignon with a little hairspray, and you’re ready to go. Easy!

    Naya’s basic bun

Paired with a dress that’s all rich color and oversized ruffle, Naya Rivera’s sleek chignon keeps her entire ensemble from sliding overboard.

For this simple style, pull your hair back into a loose ponytail in the middle of your head. Slowly tighten the elastic to give your hair a little volume. Then, simply wrap your ponytail around itself—making sure to completely cover your hair elastic—and secure your hair and any lose ends with bobby pins.

    Lily’s curly coif

Lily Collins’ wispy curls perfectly complemented her romantic, full-length gown.

To get Lily’s curly chignon, start from a loose ponytail with a few pieces framing your face. Separating your hair into approximately one-inch sections, use a small-barreled curling iron to curl each strand. After you finish each curl, twist it around the ponytail and secure it with bobby pins. Repeat until all of your curled sections have been arranged into a bun shape. To finish, lightly curl the loose pieces surrounding your face.
