Nail polish for the nail-art challenged

Nail art is a huge trend right now. Unfortunately, some ladies (like me!), are simply unable to master the delicate skill of fingernail painting. Whether you find it impossible to use your non-dominant hand or your hands shake terribly, there’s a ton of reasons why you shouldn’t feel bad about lacking in nail art expertise. Here are some fun polish alternatives to complicated nail art that will keep your tips looking fabulous, no matter the occasion!

    Tops topcoat

Topcoats have gotten an edgy makeover, and you’re sure to find one that fits your style. Try matte topcoats for a really cool effect over glitter polishes, or crackle over your neons or even holographic coats to add any polish look iridescent. For summer nights, we’ll def be sporting a classic glitter topcoat.

    Texturize it

Textured polish is the coolest new thing to hit the nail market. Think fun finishes from concrete to leather, even fuzzy effects that make your nails look like they’re wearing a fluffy scarf! We heart this sandy formula, which is sparkly and makes your nails feel like the beach.

    OMG ombré

Ombré nails look like they take a lot of work, but they are actually super easy to create. To get this look, paint stripes of your favorite polishes next to each other on a makeup sponge and dab the sponge on your nail over and over until the colors blend at the edges and the color is fully saturated on your nail.

Ed. Tip: Two or three colors work best, and non-sparkly polishes blend the easiest.

    Glitter glam

In lieu of glitter topcoat, glittery polishes sparkle and shimmer all on their own. These polishes have great staying power, since the glitter helps keep the polish bonded to your nails. Be careful though, these formulas are tough to remove, so don’t rush to try this trend if you switch up your color a lot.

    Nail stickers

For those girls who simply can’t go without true nail art, nail stickers are a great substitute for doing the hard work on your own. They come pre-printed, and the stickers usually last at least a week without chipping. Pattern options are pretty endless. They take time and patience to apply, but the end result is stunning.

Ed. Tip: For a creative look, put stickers on some of your nails and use a coordinating polish on others!
