4 beauty must-tries for your weekend plans

It’s almost Friday, (phew!) and we’re already planning our weekend adventures. Right now, we’re all about finding those perfect hair and makeup pairings—terrific twosomes that go together like cupcakes and frosting. Or like Mary-Kate and Ashley. Or like cats and the Internet. You get the idea. Read on for four totally tops beauty looks you should def try your hand at this weekend!

Beauty must-try #1: Zendaya’s faux bob and bright lip

Hair how-to: Zendaya’s cool coif is surprisingly easy to achieve. Work in a volumizing spray with a little bit of hold, then use a curling wand to get easy waves for a slightly messy look. Next, gather hair into a low pony and twist the length into a bun or braid in a loose weave. Pin the bun or braid at the base of your scalp so that it’s out of sight. Tousle and pull out small sections to create the illusion of a cropped cut.

Living Proof Full Root Lifting Spray, $26, sephora.com

Remington Pearl Ceramic Ultimate Curling Wand Model CI-95AC2, 1", $22, drugstore.com

Makeup how-to: Perfecting the bright lip is all about choosing the right matte formula. The aim is to pick a shade that won’t dry out your pout and stays creamy throughout the night. We heart:

Beauty must-try #2: Miley’s faux ’hawk and cateye

Hair how-to: Miley’s super fierce updo can be adapted for any hair length, so no need to go full-on buzzed. Separate out a 4-inch section of hair at the front/top of your head. Gather the rest of your hair back into a pony that hits at the back of your head. Use a thin comb to tease out the free section from behind, then hit it with hairspray and pull it back into a tall pompadour. Spray in place, and either pin the length down or tuck it into the ponytail.

Matrix Total Results Amplify Volume Proforma Hairspray, $15, drugstore.com

Makeup how-to: Snag a perfect cateye with jetblack gel liner. Ed. tip: Use a freshly sharpened pencil to line your upper lid first, then go over it with an angled brush dipped in gel liner. Finish with two coats of black mascara and a quick pencil line on your lower lids.

Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner, Blackest Black, $10, ulta.com

Beauty must-try #3: Elle’s sweet headband and rosy cheeks

Hair how-to: Elle’s sleek ‘n’ straight look requires just a few tools: Break out your straightener, heat protectant spray and smoothing oil. First, apply a heat protectant spray to dry hair and comb through. Next, run your straightener over your tresses in small sections until you’ve worked out all the kinks. Apply a bit of smoothing oil to your palms and lightly run your hands through your hair, focusing on the ends. Pop on a head wrap and you’re set!

Josie Maran Argan Oil Hair Serum, $30, sephora.com

Johnny Loves Rosie Pearl and Diamante Headband, $27, asos.com

Makeup how-to: We love Elle’s fresh-face look. Pick a cream blush that matches your natural flush and add a bit of brown liner to define your eyes. Clear gloss seals the deal!

Revlon Photo Ready Cream Blush in Pinched, $13, ulta.com

Beauty must-try #4: Demi's topknot and bold brows

Hair how-to: Demi’s rocker-chic look isn’t for the faint of heart. We’re not talking your normal #Tuesdaytopknot here. Comb back all your hair into a high pony, then use bobby pins to coil it into a tight bun on the crown of your head. Use a styling spray and a brush to smooth out any frizzies and keep things sleek.

Bumble and bumble Bb Does It All Styling Spray, $14, sephora.com

Makeup how-to: Demi’s topknot totally highlights her face, and we love how she chose to make her brows super bold. Get the same look by drawing short, hair-like dashes in your brows with a soft brow pencil.
