Get the best bangs for your face shape

So, you’re ready to take the plunge and get bangs. Yay! There’s just one problem – you’re not sure where to start. Lucky for you girls, we’ve got your favorite celebs’ bang styles to show you which look is right for you.
If your face is oval-shaped:
Your chin and forehead are roughly the same width, and your face is slightly oblong. With an oval shaped face, you are one lucky chica, because you can pull off a variety of bang styles! You could try blunt bangs that are the same length across your face, or if you’re feeling adventurous, try close-cropped bangs for an on-trend beauty look! Take Lea Michele’s red-carpet looks, for example: Sometimes she sports side bangs, and sometimes she wears a blunt bang look, because her oval face lets her switch between styles.

If your face is heart-shaped:
You may have a widow’s peak, and your forehead is wider than your chin, which comes to a sharp point. Sound like you? Stick to long, angled bangs – if you go for bangs that are even and straight across, you may make your forehead seem larger than it is, and the rest of your face will seem to disappear. But long, cheek-grazing tendrils will highlight your face’s natural proportions in a good way.

If your face is square-shaped:
Your chin is not pointy at all, and is roughly the same width as your forehead. You may have a pronounced jawline. Longish, textured bangs are a great choice for your face because they’ll give your face some dimension and accentuate its angles. Zooey Deschanel had the right idea when she chose her signature look.
If your face is round-shaped:
Your face roughly resembles a circle, and your chin is more round than pointy. In this case, you’ll definitely want side-swept bangs, just like our heart-shaped chicas. Angled bangs will add dimension to your face and make it appear less round, whereas straight-across bangs will leave your face looking more round than it is! Try a longer side bang that extends past your forehead for a dramatic and classy look.
If you’re still not sure which bangs are right for you or which face shape you have, don’t be afraid to ask your stylist before she starts snippin’. Stylists are happy to give their professional advice and will generally know what look is best for you. Happy haircuts, ladies!
