Beauty How-to: Rock a retro cat eye right now
Old Hollywood’s cat eye sensation is back with a vengeance. We’ve
got three cinchy steps to perfecting yours at home. And remember, practice
makes purr-fect!
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
-Eyeshadow primer
And one of the following:
-Eyeliner pencil (easiest option: recommended for beginners)
Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner with Sharpner,
$7, amazon.com
-OR Liquid liner (difficult to use, but the most striking)
Maybelline Line Stiletto, $6, drugstore.com
-OR Gel liner and an angled brush (almost as dramatic as liquid,
but less tricky)
Smashbox Be Discovered Jet Set Eye Liner & Brush, $22, sephora.com
STEP ONE
Prepare your lids by sweeping primer over your entire lid surface to ensure your eyeliner will stay put.
STEP TWO
Using your preferred eyeliner, line your entire upper eyelid as close to the lash line as possible. Try drawing short dashes along the line and connecting the ends to create one long line.
STEP THREE
If you want to go for a softer cat eye, extend your line straight out from the corner of your eye, following the natural angle.
For a more dramatic look, stop your top liner at your outer
corner. Then, line your bottom lash line and extend the line upwards, following
the curve of the bottom lid.
