5 easy ways to keep hair from drying out

When the weather begins to change, your hair can become very dry, frizzy and full of static. There are always those somewhat sketchy at-home remedies you can mix up (egg and mayo--what?), but rather than make a mess of your bathroom, try these cinchy tress treatments.

Smooth it out
To keep your hair full of moisture all day, apply a leave-in conditioner to the ends of your hair to prevent split ends and give your locks the perf amount of shine.

Aloe, miracle worker
It can be used for more than just sunburns. Once a week, or when needed, apply aloe to the roots of your hair before your shower and let sit for 10 minutes. Then, shampoo and condition as normal and feel the hydration!

No water
When possible, skip shampoo a day or two for your hair to replenish its natural oils. When you’re constantly lathering your locks, your hair’s oils don’t have time to recharge and moisturize your hair. If a wash is needed, substitute dry shampoo for a shower or rinse hair with water only.

Dryer sheets
Prevent hair from standing on end due by running a dryer sheet gently over your hair or brush bristles. The chemicals on the sheets are made to prevent clothing static and perform the same wonders on your head.

Skip the heat
A few days a week, nix the hair dryer, straightener and curling iron and go natural. All that extra heat can seriously damage your locks if used too often and can dry ‘em out even after you replenish with moisture.
