Get a cute haircut for spring
Go breezy.
Warm weather isn’t the time to opt for a coif that requires a ton of effort. If you’ve gotta spend an hour in front of the mirror to get the style you want, we say pass it by. Instead, ask your stylist what would work well with your texture. You’ll get something that’s super flattering and easy to maintain.
Don’t be afraid to lose long locks.
GL intern Caitlin recently traded her sweeping strands for a short, just-below-the-chin crop. It’s beyond adorable and she’s donating her hair to charity. Sweet, right? Celebs are trading in their extensions and Rapunzel-inspired strands for shorter ’dos as well.
Listen to the pros.
Last week, I popped into the salon hoping to get rid of my dead ends. The fab stylist took one look at my splitsies and told me if I didn’t hack off at least 4 inches, my mane would continue to unravel. Here’s the deal: Split ends travel up your hair. If you don’t eliminate them entirely, your hair will be forever frayed. I listened to my stylist and—yay!—my locks look way healthier. The point? It’s good to know what you want, but don’t rule out the possibility of going in a diff direction.
Ask questions.
It’s important to bring in inspiration pictures when you are getting a new look. But it’s also key to ask your stylist about the products she’s using. You’ll get a great idea about what you can do to nourish your hair and make your gorge cut last even longer.
