Catch Up with Allyson Felix!

GL got the chance to ask sprinter Allyson Felix a few quick Qs while she got prepped for the Olympics in Beijing. She’s way young, only 22, but she blazes down the track as one of the world’s fastest 200-meter runners. Watch for her on Tuesday, Aug. 19th when this speedy chick takes to the track! Check out nbcolympics.com for local listings!

GL: What made you wanna be a runner?
Allyson Felix: I became a runner because my big brother ran and high school.  I've always tried to keep up with him and that is how I began track and field.

GL: Do you have any rituals or lucky charms that you keep with you?
AF: I don't have any lucky charms but I pray before every race and I have to have my ipod with me while I warm up.

GL: What’s some advice you’ve been given about reaching your goals?
AF: The best advice I've been given is never to give up on my goals, be patient and work hard.

GL: Fill in the blank...If I wasn't a track and field star, I'd be...
AF: ...a 4th grade school teacher!

GL: What’s your fave good-for-you snack?
AF: My favorite healthy snack is strawberries.
