Little faux fling

I thought I was in love with my ex, so when we broke up, all I wanted was to make him jealous and want to get back together with me. I told him that I was dating someone new and we were totally into each other…but it was a lie. One day, I texted him from a family member’s phone pretending I was my new fling. “Jake” evidently sounded pretty real—I am a pretty good actress—and my ex actually believed I was a guy. I guess he was feelin’ pretty chummy, ‘cause he told “Jake” that he had only gone out with me to get closer to my best friend.
