Eat Right
Healthy Holiday Habits!
The holidays are here and that means plates piled high with cookies, pies, candy canes and chocolate galore. What’s a healthy girl to do?
If you know you’re gonna have a big din (or bake or eat 40 cookies at night), just do your best to eat as nutritiously as possible all day. Oatmeal with nuts ‘n’ berries for breakfast, turkey sandwiches on whole wheat with sprouts for lunch and fruit ‘n’ veggie snacks along the way.
Use willpower to avoid the sugar rush at school, especially if you know Mom’s makin’ her famous chocolate torte or if you’re going to Student Council’s cookie swap.
The holidays are fab, but you don’t have to indulge after each and every meal. You’ll feel better and have more energy to stay happy and healthy during this hectic time. So stick to desserts after dinner only, and nutritious foods to fuel you throughout the day.
