Eat this, not that: 10 simple swaps to make this year
Swap a soda for 100-percent juice with no added sugar or preservative
Instead of fried chips, try baked veggies with tasty spices
Take the salt down a notch! Swap it out for a pile of spices
Forget bottled smoothies you can buy at the store and make your own. Greek yogurt and fresh or frozen fruit is all you need!
For a cinchy way to cut fat, trade whole milk for 2 percent
Ditch candy bars for homemade sweets, like oatmeal raisin cookies
Trade creamy dressings for vinaigrettes flavored with infused oils and vinegars. Hurrah for healthy fats!
Normal deli meats can be really salty. Swap them for low-sodium versions or homemade varieties, like roasted chicken and turkey.
Instead of pre-packaged snacks loaded with a long list of ingredients, try homemade popcorn with a mix of herbs and real cheese. We like rosemary and Parmesan.
Forget fake butter and margarine and go for real butter when possible. It’s more satisfying and flavorful, so you’ll want less.
