Sweet Desserts (That are Actually Healthy)
Don’t demolish your healthy-girl ways by devouring endless bowls of ice cream this summer.
Instead, sweeten your day with good-for-ya fruity treats. They’re light and super-easy to make—talk about perfection.
Fruits on the ‘CueFor a fun twist at your next barbecue bash, try throwing some fruit on the grill (get a parent to help you). Pineapple kabobs are a great option, but peaches and plums are also yummy options. The heat caramelizes the fruit, making it extra-tasty. Cut smaller fruits in half and grill both sides for about three minutes.
Themed Fruit Salads
Could it get anymore classic? Put a twist on the traditional salad by coming up with a cute theme. Some ideas: Localvore’s Delight (use only fruits that grow in your area!), All-American (chop up red and blue fruits and then top it with whipped cream) or Taste of the Tropics (exotic eats only). Make it in a big bowl so you’ll have enough for a few days.
Pretty Parfaits Fruit parfaits are a sweet way to cool down on a hot day. We love this traditional recipe with yogurt, but you could also put a chilly twist by using frozen yogurt instead. Make it extra healthy by cutting back on granola and upping the amount of berries. So delish.
