Super Fab Cereal Squares

Want a cooler way to eat you corn flakes? Add some peanut butter and chocolate to turn this early-morning fave into a to-die-for dessert

What You'll Need:

1 cup corn flakes
2 cups crispy rice
½ cup light corn syrup
¼ cup brown sugar
1 cup smooth peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

What You'll Do:

1. Pour the corn flakes into a medium-sized mixing bowl and smash them slightly with your hand.
2. Mix in the rice cereal and set aside.
3. In a large saucepan, heat the corn syrup and sugar on medium heat until it boils.
4. Stir in the peanut butter and remove from heat.
5. Stir in the cereal, vanilla, and chocolate chips with a wooden spoon until just blended.  (The chocolate chips will melt into the mixture.)
6. Pat into an eight or 9-inch baking pan.

7. Chill at least one hour before slicing into squares.  (We got impatient and put the bars in the freezer for the first 20 minutes and then into the refrigerator so we could eat them sooner. Yum!)

Our tip? Add your fave fruit to make this dessert look a lil' gourmet.

*Note: Use only smooth peanut butter in a jar, such as Skippy.  The peanut butter from the bulk bin at the health food store doesn’t work out too well.  Also, we used stale corn flakes we wanted to get rid of, and the bars still turned out fine.
