We Heart Healthy Hot Chocolate

Sure, hot chocolate is a cold weather classic, but are you afraid this chocolatey drink will ruin your healthy eating kick?  GL to the rescue! This revved up recipe Is low in calories and delish, too. Serve one to your sweetie, your BFF or your 'rents to show the (healthy!) love this V-day.

What You'll Need:

1 cup reduced fat milk or vanilla soy milk
2 tablespoons boiling water
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons honey

Tools:

measuring cups and spoons
medium saucepan
tea kettle or small saucepan
What You'll Do:

1. Pour the milk into a saucepan and heat on low heat until hot. Heat some water in a tea kettle until hot.

2. Pour the boiling water into the blender with the cocoa powder and honey. Put a dish towel over the blender lid and press on the lid with one hand. Blend for a few seconds until a syrup forms. Add the hot milk; blend, holding the lid again, until foamy. Pour into a mug, adding more milk if it's too strong or more honey if it needs it. Top with “Cinnamon Whipped Cream” if you like.

Safety Hint: Sometimes when hot liquids are blended, the heat may cause some liquid to splatter through the lid. To avoid a mess, and a possible burn, cover the blender top with a towel and hold it with one hand while you blend. Start the blender on low, then increase the speed.

The easier way:
Instead of using the blender, mix up the cocoa in a mug using a whisk, but it won't be as foamy.
