Make festive (and healthy) green juice

Drink your greens this St. Patty’s Day—without any added food coloring. Yep, we chatted up wellness guru and author of Crazy Sexy Diet Kris Carr and snagged a recipe for her famous (and yummy!) green juice. You’ll get a major dose of energy and nutrients…perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up.

Make Juice Not War Green Drink

2 large cucumbers, peeled

A big fistful of kale or romaine lettuce or spinach

A big fistful of sweet pea stems (if you can find them)

4-5 stalks of celery

1-2 big broccoli stems

1-2 pears or green apples (optional)

Pop everything into a blender (or juicer) and whirl it up until it’s smooth. Place a colander on top of a bowl. Line the colander with a piece of cheesecloth (you can get it at Target or on Amazon.com). Pour the juice through the cheese cloth to maker sure your juice is nice and smooth.

Don’t wanna strain it? No worries, sip up your concoction as a smoothie. You’ll probably have extra, so save it in an airtight container or share it with your friends.
