MAKE IT CUTE

Parties

You *have* to start throwing theme parties with your BFFs—here’s a step-by-step guide to start

Wait, hold on—did someone say "party"?!

You heard us right. This is GL's *ultimate* guide to hosting the perfect theme party, complete with step-by-step instructions and a few killer theme ideas to get you started. Put on your party hats and grab some confetti, because things are about to get fun

First, pick a theme!

There are *so* many fun themes to choose from. If you and your squad are total Swifties, try a Taylor party where you dress up as all her different album eras. Or, throw a Christmas in July party, complete with hot cocoa and ugly sweaters. Don't be afraid to think outside the box and brainstorm with your besties.

Themes we're *obsessed* with: Beach party, middle school sleepover (PJs and chick flicks, anyone?), superheroes, deja vu (dress up like each other), calendar party (dress like your fave holiday) and hoedown throwdown.

Send out invites.

This can be as simple as making a group chat, but you can even go old school and send out invitations by mail. However creative you want to get is up to you, but having a guest list full of your fave people is the main focus. Make sure you include the date, time, location and theme of the party!

Next, set a dress code.

The key to a good theme party is making sure that everybody is, well, on theme! Once you've decided on what the theme is, be sure to communicate this to all your BFFs so nobody is left out.

Pro tip: Some of the best costumes can be made with things you *already* have in your closet!

Then, pick the music...

Without a doubt, the most *important* part of any party is the music. Team up with your friends to create the perfect playlist that captures the vibe of the theme. You can even make a collaborative playlist with apps like Spotify to ensure that everyone's picks are being included.

...and the snacks.

Don't be afraid to keep the menu simple. When have chips and dip ever gone out of style? (Want to be more creative? Check out our easy and trendy summer recipes HERE.)

Lastly, decorate the party space.

Here at GL, we're all about DIY, so get crafty! Party streamers and color-coordinated balloons can go a loooong way when decorating a space. If you're feeling even more into the theme, dollar stores and Target are budget-friendly options for more specific decorations.

These steps are an easy outline to an unforgettable get-together with your BFFs. Whether you keep it lowkey or feel like amping things up, just remember that what makes a good party isn't a big budget or expensive costumes—it's the people! By surrounding yourself with friends who make you feel good, you're in for an amazing time, we promise!
