5 fun ways to get over rejection

Rejection hurts. It was hard enough working up the courage to confess your feelings to your crush, but having them not feel the same way? It's even worse. Don’t worry, though—you will recover from this! Try some of these fun activities to take your mind off the sting of rejection and help you move on.

1. Have a movie night

Immersing yourself in your favorite films is a perfect escape, especially with your besties beside you. Pick something upbeat to watch and pop some popcorn to munch on.

2. Try something new

Always wanted to attend a local salsa class but never got around to it? Now’s your chance to treat yourself and have some fun experimenting.

3. Make something

Art is a great form of therapy. It’s calming, focused and keeps your mind off of your troubles. Paint a flawless self-portrait, or grab some clay and get sculpting.

4. Go to a concert—or jam in your room

There’s nothing like singing your heart out along to Taylor Swift to get your emotions out.

5. Hang out with animals at a shelter

Puppy kisses can fix anything.

6. And here's one don’t: Don’t spend days thinking about the person who rejected you.

You can’t make them change their mind, and you shouldn’t let them ruin your week. It’s OK to watch one sad movie and cry it out, but don’t let yourself wallow in sadness. You’ll be OK—promise.

Have you ever faced rejection, GL readers? What did you do to get over it?
