Catch Up with Your Fave Authors
Ever wonder what your fave authors talk about when they meet up? Well, now you’ll be able to find out! At AUTHORMIX, some of the hottest YA (young adult) authors are making vlogs about life, love, high school, writing and everything in between.
The first series of web videos on the site (which launched just last week) has ten episodes that focus on topics like favorite books, the writing process and critiquing work.
The vlogs are all shot at a soundstage in Burbank, California, and new videos are released twice weekly (one 6-9 minute discussion segment on Tuesdays and another 1-2 minute rapid-fire “Speed Round”).

The first rotation of authors includes Melissa de la Cruz (New York Times best-selling author of The Au Pairs series of novels and the Blue Bloods series), Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl (New York Times best-selling authors of Beautiful Creatures), Cecil Castellucci (author of Beige, Boyproof, Queen of Cool and The Plain Janes series for DC Comics) and Katie Alender (author of the Bad Girls Don’t Die series).
The first video, which aired last Tuesday, dealt with the topic of High School. And this week, the ladies discuss the art of critiquing. A second series for AUTHORMIX, with a new rotation of guest authors is tentatively scheduled for taping in September, slated to premiere in October.
