Must List

Sabrina Carpenter just released emails i can't send fwd:—and we're already obsessed

Just last summer, the most fabulous surprise of the season hit our inboxes—Sabrina Carpenter dropped her fifth album, emails i can't send. Needless to say, its catchy songs (don't lie, you're still belting out "Nonsense" with your besties on every car ride) and meaningful lyrics ("because i liked a boy" is def a track 5 worthy of Taylor Swift status) made the album an instant hit. If you still have this record on repeat, you're in luck—on March 17, Sabrina released its deluxe version, emails i can't send fwd:, a re-issue of the album complete with four brand-new bonus tracks.

Ahead of the album's release, Sabrina took to Instagram to share the exciting news.

"Heyy email girl here," she wrote. "For those of you that found a little piece of themselves in the album, think of these few new songs as my sincerest thank you to you. So much has happened in this chapter of my life that it was really hard to put it to rest, and ultimately I couldn't stop writing and still can't." She clarified that this album is "not a follow up to anything, it's just a few songs in the emails world for those of u who were kind enough to make this record feel so welcome and heard."

She later made another post sharing the names of the four new tracks listeners could find on the album: "opposite," "Feather," "Lonesome," and "things i wish you said." And whether you're lucky enough to hear them live on tour, have already been listening to them nonstop (DW, us too) or are just discovering them now, we have the scoop on each one right here.

"opposite"

Ever had a *huge* crush, only for them to like someone who's the total opposite of you instead? The album's first bonus track, "opposite," encapsulates this exact idea. With emotional, heartfelt lyrics like "She looks nothing like me / So why do you look so happy?" and "Does she step out the spotlight so you bathe in it?", Sabrina paints a vivid picture of heartbreak and the unique struggles that come with comparing yourself to others.

"Feather"

In the mood for something a little more upbeat? "Feather," a free-spirited and funky disco-inspired track, is the perf pick for you. Beyond its groovy beat, the song boasts an empowering message that *so* many listeners can relate to. If you've ever felt trapped in a toxic relationship or friendship and finally broke free, "Feather" is your anthem. "I feel so much lighter like a feather with you out my life," Sabrina croons in its chorus. Tbh, we love this for her—and for you.

"Lonesome"

OK, so the dance party was super fun, but now we're back in our sad girl era with "Lonesome." On this track, Sabrina shares a vulnerable story of being blindsided and left by someone she loved—and how that still affects her today. "You can't spell 'lonesome' without 'me," she laments, reflecting on her insecurities and recounting the hurt she felt when someone she cared about didn't show her the same kindness.

"things i wish you said"

We've all been there—spending way too much time looking back on a conversation you had, wishing you or the other person could have said something different, going over the possibilities of how it could have gone. "things i wish you said" is about to become your go-to song for *all* those late nights spent overthinking. Throughout the track, Sabrina reveals things she wishes an ex had said to her when they were still together. "I think about these things at night before I fall asleep / Things I wish you said to me," she reveals. By the end of the song, she's decided to move on, knowing that she'll never get to hear the things she wishes she could. This song will give you allll the feels from start to finish!
