Recently, the traditional dance form has been getting modernized as costumes are updated and new dances are created. Morgan spilled to GL that she almost didn't post the video because she wasn't really happy with it, but her mom encouraged her to go ahead and post it anyways. The next day Morgan woke up to an explosion of likes and views, including a repost from Beyoncé's mom.
"It was really surreal when it started to blow up, I just didn't expect it at all." Morgan shares. Her TikTok now has 1.3 million views, and over 250 thousand likes. An overnight sensation, Morgan caught the eye of all kinds of celebrities and was featured on "The Kelly Clarkson Show" as well as being invited to preform with the cast of Riverdance. With the Corona Virus pandemic, Morgan doesn't know when she'll be able to join the iconic dance show, but just the invitation itself was a dream come true.
"Riverdance has been a goal of mine for as long as I can remember, for as long as I've been Irish dancing." Morgan gushes.

Morgan is a world class competitive Irish dancer, having competed at the World Championships four times, making it to the top fifty twice. She's also placed fourth in the Southern Region Oireachtas twice, but her favorite part of Irish dance is the people it's connected her to.
"I've made so many friends over the years Irish dancing, from all over the world. It's given me the opportunity to share something I'm very passionate about with other people who are just as passionate about it, and I think that's a really special thing that connects the Irish dance community." Morgan says.
Morgan has become a role model to dancers all around the world. After her video went viral, one mom reached out to Morgan telling her that her five-year-old daughter, loved watching Irish dancing, but her mom was nervous to sign her up for classes because it wasn't really something she saw people of color doing, but Morgans' video inspired her to sign her daughter up for classes.
"It's great to have someone to look up to who looks like you, and with something like Irish dancing, I think it's really cool that I can inspire other dancers, whether they're people of color or not, to try something new. When I started Irish dancing I didn't see many other dancers who looked like me that I could look up to, so it was a really cool moment to get that message and know that I had helped start this little girl's Irish dancing career." Morgan explains.

Morgan is just one of many Irish dancers sharing the dance form on popular media such as TikTok. An often lesser-known dance style, Morgan says that she thinks it's great to see Irish dance reaching wider audiences than it normally would without social media.
"It's not common knowledge what Irish dancing really looks like, and the side of Irish dancing that's a dancer who trained traditionally but is dancing to contemporary music has been going on for a while now just because it's fun to make up dances to popular songs. The fact that we're all going through these different phases of lockdown has people channeling their creativity and making these dance videos. It's a way for everyone to connect and get their mind off of the craziness in the world, and I think it's great for Irish dance because it's such a beautiful dance form that I think should be shared." Morgan told GL.
