5 reasons we are super pumped for to see Disney's Freaky Friday

There's nothing we get more excited for than an all new Disney Channel Original Movie, and the latest flick is sure to make our top 10 list: Freaky Friday.

The movie is based on the flick starring Lindsay Lohan from 2003 (*and* the original film from the 70s), but with major musical moments and tons of fun twists, it's getting a total upgrade. Here's five reasons we can't wait to see it this Friday, Aug. 10 at 8 p.m. EST.

It's a musical!
Disney has a reputation for producing awesome musicals. Adding some tracks to this fab story is sure to kick it up a notch. The songs will have a mix of sounds including pop, rock and musical theater. Some of them are brand new and some resemble the stage version of the well-loved story.

It'll remind everyone of the OG movie...
A mother-daughter duo that love each other but butt heads? Check. An *insane* body swap? Check. A feel good ending? Check. Plenty of laughs along the way? Check. All the elements of the classic we love are here.

...but it'll still be *fresh*
The plot is definitely getting an update. The two leading ladies don't swap bodies because of a fortune cookie, but rather because of a magical hourglass that Ellie's dad gave to her. When it shatters, they go on a hunt to find a replica. There's also new wedding plans, new love interests and new teenage problems to spice up the movie and kick it into 2018.

The cast is amazing
The movie stars Cozi Zuehlsdorff (Ellie, the daughter) from the Dolphin Tales series and Heidi Blickenstaff (Katherine, the mom), who was part of the a stage version of the movie. No doubt you've seen Cozi on Disney before, too. She's made plenty of guest appearances on fan fave shows like K.C. Undercover and Liv and Maddie

It has classic mean girl moments
Dara Reneé, who plays the movie's resident high school mean girl, Savannah, told GL that she had some pretty interesting inspo for her character... "I was looking at—this is going to sound so weird—but I was looking at the Shadow Man from Princess and the Frog for mean girl inspiration," she laughs. "And then I mixed him with Regina George from Mean Girls, so it was kind of like mix of nice and sneaky and sly. Some how it worked!"

You don't have to wait too long to see it
Mark you cals: the movie drops this Friday at 8 p.m. on Disney Channel
