One minute, it's just another normal Thursday. The next, we're pressing play on a surprise music video from Niall Horan—what?!

The former One Direction funny man just released his first solo song called “This Town" and we are *so* in love with it. The track is not yet available to download, but you can watch the video on Vevo right here.

The video shows Niall singing and playing guitar, and he sings the entire song in just one take. That isn't much of a big deal, but when you consider that most of the time musicians sing the same line over and over again just to get it right, the fact that Niall performed this in just one take becomes pretty impressive. Even though we miss Niall signing with Harry, Louis and Liam, we are so excited to see him showcasing his individual talent.

“I wanted to kind of let people know that I was up to something so they didn’t think I’d just fallen off the face of the earth… the only song that’s actually fully finished," Niall told SiriusXM Hits 1.

Despite the fan frenzy about a One Direction reunion after a suspicious addition to the guys’ website, Horan (sadly) confirmed 1D is still on hiatus. I guess that means more time for Niall to release some solo tunes and *hopefully* hit the studio with Shawn Mendes!
