5 music videos any single girl can appreciate

For some, Valentine’s Day is the best day ever. But for those who don’t have a knight in shining armor, Feb. 14 can be a bit of a, well, downer. Having a BF is great, but being single is just as fun. And you don’t need to be taken to have fun this V-Day. Why not blast this lineup of music videos that have those solo sistahs in mind? It’s time to celebrate the most important person in your life: Y-O-U.

“Single Ladies” – Beyoncé

To this day, we still consider it the single girls anthem. We love how Bey celebrates being single and encourages women to do the same. No guy? No problem!

“Stronger” – Kelly Clarkson

It is impossible not to jam out and sing along to this hit. Any girl who’s ever had a heartbreak or a bad boy in their life can relate to these lyrics like, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” Look forward to the future, babes.

“Ridin’ Solo” – Jason Derulo

This song is all about doing what’s best for you—and feeling good about it. Not only do we love Jason’s incredible dance moves in the video, but the song gives a great message about how it’s OK to be ridin’ solo this V-Day.

“Independent Women Part 1” – Destiny’s Child

We can’t get enough of this girl power-packed song. This tune proves that you don’t need a man to be able to succeed, so go out into the world and do your thing, girl.

“Firework” – Katy Perry

This jam is all about unleashing your inner beauty—and you don’t need a man to do that. Take it from Katy: “You just gotta ignite the light and let it shine.”
